Here are some pics of the Spalding used in the old Kronk Gym. Do you by chance know anyone who is in possession of a Medart 1255 platform?

Wow thanks for posting. Yeah I still go to the boxing gym and train there with Sam. I use to train and fight out of the old Windy City Gym but it closed its door December in 2006 for various issues. Anyways I can feel.your passiona and yes one day all of these platforms will be lost. They actually all belong in a museum like Indiana Jones says. Yeah I really want to get my hands on a Medart 1255 platform like I said will be perfect for my Gym. I will post pictures of my Narragansett once I get it setup. Talk soon.

No way! I've been looking for a Everlast Platform and found one for sale in Washington. The guy wanted $150 on Facebook marketplace but said it was local pickup only. I live in the Chicagoland area I tried my best but he just would not do it and sold it pretty much right away. Unreal! That's awesome nice Platform if you're ever looking to sell it at Amy point please let me know. I drove the Lehigh Valley in Pennsylvania this past summer to purchase and pick up the Narragansett and drove it back to Chicago. Can't wait to start using it. I need to restore my Spalding needs some good tlc. Lol

BTW the Art Of The Bag has always been in my blood way before i found this forum, But i'm so very thankful for this forum when i was off from Bagg'in and wanted to find Bags and Swivels so i can get back to the thing that is in my heart. (Edit) Oh and the only Medart Platform i've ever seen was the one on ebay, paranday used to be on here alot and would always post gems he would find but he hasn't posted in awhile

I have been lucky to be able to save these really cool (and big) platforms. Wish I had a bigger house. These are getting harder & harder to find.
I've been looking for the old floor mounts (swivels) since 2010 with no luck. I hit every flea market, antique store & garage sale anywhere I go...nothing. Hate to see this history disappear.Art of the Bag - A Speed Bag Story

Great work! Yeah me as well seeing history dissappear is horrible. I trained at the old Windy City Gym and they had alot of old boxing equipment even as far back as the Victorian Era. Just recently learned that rhe building maintenence guy threw out the old Medart and Narragansett platforms and both boxing rings as well as an old heavy bag Muhammad Ali use to train on. Sickening. That's why I'm trying to find an old 1912 Medart platform for my gym that will be as old school as you can get!
