    That problem has been solved,

    Tarnish resistant copper alloy

How does PTFE compare to Delrin for bushings? I have some Delrin/stainless bearings that will spin forever. Well, almost.

      Wow,That copper is amazing......

Delrin and Teflon (ptfe)are both dupont tradenames,Teflon has a lower coef of friction but Delrin is excellent and machines beautifully, its what i would have used for this but i happenened to have a piece of Teflon the right size (almost)

      Cheers

Better lock that copper swivel down at night. The way thieves are stealing it around here it won't be on your board long. Large construction sites in and around Central Texas have been hiring night security guards to protect all copper installed.

Security guards? Shouldn't they be called coppers?

I know of a public works superintendent who got canned because he didn't realize his employees were walking off with copper from the supply yard and reselling it after hours. Temptation, that metal.

I'll follow your advice and Glock that swivel, cuz I want a copper swivel and intend to get me one.

Have a look at my custom swivels

Ebozyn, I have created my custom swivels from both, the everlast chainlink swivel and the Title ez-pro swivel that you have in your photos. The only EZ pro custom swivel I modified into a ball hook was sent to a fellow speed bagger near the west coast. A gift for a good friend!

Check out my Thread "make a nova-swivel from shower curtain hooks Yo!"

No drilling of the housing is necessary if you use a small ball like the brass ball I've used from the shower hooks. Since this original modification, I've also use a shorter eye-hook, which barely extends above the nut on top of the brass ball (See my photo album on my profile page).

It also makes speed bagging speedier because the arc distance is reduced so, the eye-hook strikes the housing quicker on each rebound.

The swivel in my photo album was my first attempt but, I have refined it since the MC hammer punch drumming vid shown here.

Below you can see how I also have abandoned the S-hook and strictly use a zip tie to attach the speed bag. The zip tie offers the option of variable arc lengths depending on the loop length at which you set the zip tie.

Check out the performance of this custom everlast chainlink converted to a ball hook swivel in my vidz!

              I hope that helps some!

                Home Depot

I bought a dozen shower hooks for $7 or so and drill out the ball. The nice part is that the hole is started already. In my photo album you will see a homemade wooden vise I used to drill the hoe all the way through.

This is a very simple way to modify the everlast chainlink swiv and the title EZ pro swivel. On the EZ pro I had to place some teflon tape on the threads because the housing threads don't have a stopping point and it would continue to spin instead of tightening to the point of stopping.

That's nothin' , in FL they will take it right off the poles or rip apart the A/C condenser in foreclosed homes.

Nova! I knew you were great at Punch Drumming... but not this good!!
Wow! The last vid I saw of you was the Crazy Head one, but man, incorporating those 4 way combos back to back (a la Skunk) in time, is killer!
                              Also, your linking is awesome!!!
When I got off tour, back home, I gotta bump up my Punch Drummin' skills!
                              Great stuff!
Alan started the whole Punch Drummin' thing, and since then, I know you, Dee, and myself have put some quality time into locking up the bag to music.... is there anyone else out there punch drummin' I am unaware of... or I spacing out on...
                              thanks...
                              BAG ON!

Hey Thanks Man. I'll have to keep a look out for some of those shower curtain hooks. i've been scouring the internet for some parts that i think may work, but it's tough if you don't have the swivel, and ball, so you can see if they'll work together correctly. That's why it's a real help to be able to get advice from someone who has built some swivels from parts.

Thanks again for the help nova.
