Actually in this photo most of the steel balls you see are everlast, Mine are in the two swivels and a couple in the back that aren't finished, what i do to my steel balls (i'm sure there's a joke in there somewhere) my steel ball only has a flat on one side, i never understood why everlast would have two flats on their steel balls, There's no need to have two flats, the S-hooks you see in the two swivel cups are mine, i fabricated them to be shorter and wider than everlast s-hooks so they work with & fit all bags, they have what memberfedora would call that Kinky bend to them, just like the old school swivels used to have, i'll try to get some pictures of two maybe three swivels done this weekend and post the on here, i have about ten everlast new york swivels to sell and i'll also offer up my s-hooks with eyebolt for those that want a proper old school s-hook.

We older baggers spent many hours pounding these type of S-Hooks. They have a very distinctive sound to them.

The sound has been clearly part of the addition.

Would this be an appropriate swivel for a Narragansett platform? If so, I might be interested in buying one. They look great

Hey! "Dutchman" sorry to put you on the spot but my first thought was (just ask the Dutchman) so, what swivel came with the original "Narragansett platform"

They had their own line of swivels. Originally similar to the Nichols rope swivel, and later a ball and hook style. You will find just about any make of swivel on the surviving platforms

Yah these will work, the new york everlast swivels are getting harder to come by as time goes by, i only have so many of these before they're gone, These are modified by me with my ball-hook assemblies put inside them, it usually takes me about 4 days to get the assemblies fabricated, meaning i stand over my work bench for hours on end.

I have a picture of the original swivel from the 1916 Narragansett catalog, it's obvious that you can't find these because people probably took these off to put other swivels on that they were using at the time, that's to bad that the original swivel was lost in time.

Swivel from the 1916 Narragansett catalog. The two pictures below are a similar swivel if not the same rope swivel on a Medart Platform, i can't remember where i found the picture of the guy hitting on the Medart platform but i think he was a Physician.

BTW those platforms back in the day had 3 foot drums and those guys would hit on big bags like the one i'm selling in these pictures, it's a shame that people don't realize the benefits of hitting on big bags, There was a particular person on YouTube saying that you can't do bible bagging on big bags, That guy doesn't know what he was talking about, Where do you think bible bagging came from, it came from a time period where they had Fancy baggers during the vaudeville days.
