    Early Ringside Speed Bag Stand

This is a mid 1980's Ringside speed bag stand. Modified with a 30" drum, and a double end wall bracket. I built a platform to fasten it to and used ratchet straps to stabilize it, along with three 50 lb rocks.

Actually I do have an Everlast from the early 80's that I rotate out. The swivels base is the same size and thread size. I just happened to have this particular Ringside one on the board when I took the photo.

Funny how alot of these different brand two piece swivels will cross over, I had Moosehead-Whitely and other brands of the ball-cups that would thread into my everlast new york base plate

Leads one to assume that there was some kind of an agreement between the makers about standardizing mounting flanges. Or they just took one to the shop that made theirs and said "copy this."

In 1995, Ringside sent me their current Free Standing Bag stand "only" with no attachments for other bags. (See Pictures below). It is similar to the one above, but with an updated "Tripod" base, and the Single Veritical Pole had holes in it for the board to be adjusted and locked in place. The Board attached to an iron from that had a "Square hole" that slid over the vertical pole with a spring-hinged Pin that would lock into the hole of on the vertical pole.

The vertical pole gave a lot of height adjust. Unfortunately it was very Unstead with a lot of "sway" and "floor creep" if not heavily weight down. I put it together in my Living Room, then experimented with mixing it with a home Step exerciser (Step & Punch) and also a Stationary Cycle, (Punch & Ride). in both cases I had to attach luggage straps to the top irons hold the board down to the base pods and crank them extremely tight to know out the sway of the vertical pole.

I don't have a video posted of the Step & Punch setup but I do have a few video's with the board lowered down for my cycle. Note how much the board was swaying even with the straps. I also had 45 pound Dumb bells on each floor pod.

I took that floor stand to several sporting goods / Fitness industry shows for booth demonstrations but the shaking/twising of the single vertical pole really messes with the rebounds.
