Slow bagging to help your Speed bagging

I was watching one of Dee Poolers videos a while back and he recommended going extra slow to help with your form and timing. I thought that it would be easier than going somewhat fast, but surprisingly it wasn't. Going faster you can actually hit the bag a little off and the speed will actually carry it through. As long as you aren't too far off of course. But going slower I found my hit had to be right at the sweet spot to get it to rebound correctly. Has anyone found this to be true? I try to incorporate slow bagging into all my workouts now.

Yep... I always go slow...as slow as I can and work on control. It really is much harder to go slow and when you do, it becomes a 'control bag'. I've been meaning to shoot a new video of 'slow baggin', I'll have to do that soon.

Once you have the control, speed is a natural.

Don't know why but this seemed to fit the subject. Maybe Zaza can punch drum to it.

Ebozyn and Dee have a way dont they?. The slow control is really cool. While practicing I try to hit both very slowly and ramp it up until it falls apart.

                    Slow hand by pointer sisters.

You can slow bag to that easily in straight time punching, or jump to double time and fast bag it in straight time punching. Syncopating punch combinations would be medium speed on that song.

of course, your punching speed will also depend on bag size and inflation.

in case your wondering.... I hear it in my head.
