I started trying to do the double side punch 3 weeks ago, trying everyday to do it. I watched all the video's, knew what I was supposed to do, but I just couldn't get the timing. I thought to myself numerous times "this is one move I may never get". But I kept working at it and for some reason a few days ago I did a FDP,RDP and went right into the SDP and just kept going with that combination over and over without crashing. I couldn't believe it, it finally came together even if it did take 3 weeks. For a newbie it was a pretty cool feeling.
I think having a better bag and swivel made a big difference. Plus having the setup in my garage where I could go out numerous times a day and work at it helped too. But without a doubt finding this site and watching Alan's video's along with the others posted here was the biggest factor in helping me progress. Thanks to all here who participate in the forum.
I can see where if a person only goes to a gym 3 times a week, which is typical, and spends a minimal amount of time trying to get some of these combinations may give up on it. But if a 62 year old can finally pick it up with some persistence, I know others can if they just keep at it.
