    Speed bagging rediscovery

    Wazaa~! Hey everyone,

I've just re-installed my LMF swivel & Reyes bag on a makeshift platform in my makeshift calisthenics home gym
and started getting in sync again when the odd mechanical slip of the swivel (obviously due to my current lack of coordination)
got me into the rabbit hole of swivels, bag pressure, bible style technique, etc.

I'm glad I found the forum
and looking forward to feedback on a few ideas/projects I have.

(Like a portable platform to bring to the park for when I go with the kids and their friends show up, so I get free time...
There's rigid vertical & horizontal h-beam-made canopy "tents" where it would be easy to secure, with clamps?, and probably more stable and enjoyable than what I have at home for now...)

    Cheers~

Welcome to the forum, unfortunately nobody really comes on here anymore there's just a few of us, if your on Instagram look up spdyTommyT speedytommyT if you have a truck you can see or ask him for advice for hookups to a truck, i also have a truck 1967 chevy C10 but never really got into hooking up a portable speed bag setup to mine, others have followed suit of Tommy's idea, i'm also on instagram under the same name as here. Do you have pictures

As Ventanakaz said, there isn't a whole lot activity on here now. However there is a lot of useful information stored here. Take the time to go through all the forums, and if you have further questions we will try to answer them to the best of our abilities.

Yeah, I saw the posts were sparse.
I was going to data mine the old posts to find what I was looking for.
I'm not on Instagram or any other Meta product so will have to find a work around or just share with the few active accounts here.

        Thanks for replies tho!

There is a lightweight portable Speed Bag unit that was developed and is still being updated, and hopefully will be available soon... https://youtube.com/shorts/4-cObXVDZfw?feature=shared

              That's really nice!
I like the use of plexiglass.
I just made one quick out of joined 2x4 with reinforced shelf brackets.
I haven't put it up yet as I had no extra swivel lol (but just drew one in CAD to 3d print and test )
And was going to see if strapped with rachets was solid enough on a vertical 15cm square steel beam...

The 1h-design OpenSCAD swivel based on my LMF dimensions and a 1" ball hook.

                Inspired by this Sambista thread:
Hi, Having first punched a speed bag last week and with my shoulders not being in the best of health, I spent some indoor time over the weekend trying to make myself a ball swivel. I made this mainly as an exercise in design and prototyping - the process might be of interest, so here it is. This first post covers inception to

But couldn't find any code, so started from scratch and published the code:

Going to add it to thingiverse.com also... once I have a bit of test, which should come soon with the portable platform & kids at the park

Nice idea! I want to build one, too. Looking forward to your update.

I made one 24" round platform with 2x glued together 1/2" chipwood board.
But round is less portable and so is 24".

Then another one with an acrylic board 60cm x 45cm x 1cm (I was going to glue 2 1cm thick boards together, but 1cm seems enough)
Again, and as visible in the picture with a big meister speedbag hooked on, 60cm (24") is probably overkill.
The bag hit patch is >5cm from the edge so even with a 12x9 a 50cm x 45cm or simple 45cm square would do.

Given it is to bring at the park and use with the kids, a cheap 12x9 was my reference...

The triangular frame seems a bit small. Does the platform vibrate a lot?

No that's pretty solid, but those were the biggest I found.
I was worried about that too, so was thinking to use 4.
But no vibration longitudinaly with 2.
Side ways it feel like it's more dependent on the platform rigidity more than the 2 squares.
