    Fist weights

I see I'm still registered. It's been awhile (years) - life happens, moved to Oregon, retired.

Anyway, back when - I had a set of stainless steel fist weights made for speed-bag workouts. They worked great, but always wanted a bigger pair made of copper. Finally got around to it - can't wait for the patina to set in.

    Stainless steel
    3/4" x 4" - 235g (.52 lbs)
    1" x 4" - 404g (.89 lbs)

    Copper
    1-1/4" x 4" - 739g (1.6 lbs)

I would definitely consider hand weights for heavy bag hitting. Not so much for Speed bagging Bible style.

      I've always used weights.

Not only is it a better workout - the support it gives my fingers helps avoid any stress on my middle finger knuckle. As I'm pounding the bag straight on with my fist, the tip of that finger is pressed against my palm and tends to twist sideways without the support.

Hmmm. Put a bigger, heavier bag on the hook or punish a light bag with weighted fists??

I would use hand weights years ago from time to time hitting speedbag, heavy bag, double end bag. What I didn’t like is that it slowed my hands down considerably so I got discouraged pretty quickly and stopped.I keep my weight training separate from my bag work.

If I divulged how and when I use fist weights it would violate the terms of service...egregiously.

Can you provide a link to where you had them made?

I did that years ago but can't really say it made any difference except maybe strain the elbows from putting more weight on the end of the "fulcrum" circling from the elbow. Also, I hit with a "loose Fist" and never liked holding something in my hand because I'd have to consciously squeeze it.

I have big farm boy fists. The argument could be made that my fists Are weights.

Where can you buy those fist weights? Nothing on Amazon.
