My Boxing Area Upgrades

Its still a work in progress (an arc of a story, lol), but finally got my 2nd platform mounted properly.



It is a floating 2"x2" section of Ipe (Brazilian Walnut) flooring mounted to concrete block wall. Here were the steps...

Yes, as I said, a work in progress. Until I get a frame for it, I will pin it to the drywall behind the camera.

But I am not very happy with the shaking and vibration of the Everlast platform. I know its cheaply made, and I can't expect too much. I had bought it as a gift for someone, but it didn't work out, so why not mount it?

I know I could put a sandbag up there, but that looks a bit slapdash. I wish I knew how to weld, I would just add steel braces. Maybe I could take it to a local shop. Maybe just toss it and get a better platform. I dunno.

hey rusty u should try to build one yourself .i did and im more than happy with it .it costs nothing and it is sturdy as hell .as i hung mine to the wall we tested it and did pull ups with 3 guys ( 200 pounds each ) at the same time on it . but i have to say its mounted to a stone wall

Very nice. Is that platform adjustable?

I do have an X-Mark adjustable platform I like. You can see it on the left of the top pic. I do plan to make some mods to the adjustment mechanism, because its very hard to get it set to a position where it won't move or vibrate.
