Excellent Novaspeedbagger! Straight time punching like you're doing fits great to that song. You did it perfectly. A couple of variations you might try that work very well are using a 4 rebound riff changing sides.

        FCP ' ' RSP ' ' ' ' FCP ' ' ' ' RSP ' ' ' ' FCP ' ' ' ' FCP ' ' '...

Just keep each punch directly on the beat. secret: you have to accent those single punches (hit a bit harder) to get the extra (4th) rebound in to the combo.

you can kinda hear what I"m talking about at 3:16 in this video. I did it a couple of times with two punches earlier in the song but the four punches works fine also. probably start at 3:09 to see and hear this combo a bit better. It is really easy to do, starting off a single punch or using the second fist of a double punch as the accented beginning.

You can do this while holding the fists split front to back or you can alternate the fists through the bag like I did in this combo, but the trick is - you're fists will occassionally have to hit twice in a row when you alternate, because the key to the combo is hitting the front then back of bag, NOT the fist sequence. It doesn't matter what side of the bag you start this on either. You can start from the front, back or side - just hit a bit harder to all the fourth rebound to come in before you hit from the other side. the lead in or exit can be a single of double punch also. Doesn't matter, just however you feel it.

Play with it to add just a bit of combo and beat variety to your otherwise brilliant work. Hope it helps.

You must be a natural at it! I like the way you've edited your video too, posh stuff
I've had a go at punch drumming and it's harder than it looks! (I find it hard anyway!) So I'm well impressed

Thanks Mrs Mitts, I wish I would have seen your last video post before they snagged your original music from you. I think by recording the music through the camera, instead of dragging the mp3 onto the storyboard of moviemaker software may help you keep your intended song on your video. I'm not sure but that's how I managed to keep the music to this video (I reckon). Keep on punching and posting!

Two words – YOU'RE GOOOOD! You joined the forum back in July. But, were you speed bagging prior to joining? Quite amazing level you've reached in such a short time. And to "get it" in the punch-drumming department. Wow! Excellent aural skills, nova. Watching your video made me want to go out and do just straight-time punching. Very pleasing to the ears.

PS: Nice video editing also. More please!
