I learned how to link! Thanks everybody!

I've been messing around for the past 2 days on my newest bag – an Everlast Ta:S – and, the linking... well, it just finally fell into place tonight. Thanks to all of you for posting your videos, so I can watch and learn.

And that's the way it works. Suddenly it all falls into place, and you may even wonder why it seemed so hard .

    Glad to hear it!

It's definitely coming together Dee. Very soon, you won't have to think about it.
      Many bags from the UK.
I fixed the link for you.

From that view it looks like the bag is a bit too high and it is influencing your swing motion to be a lot more "up & down, behind", dipping in a deep figure 8 motion. Perhaps you could put a few 2x4 down and then a plywood 4x4 over the top to make a platform to stand on to raise you up a bit. Linking "through the bag" is a lot easier if the belly of the bag is at the level of the mouth.

I started writing the same thing this morning. But then, I looked at one of Dee's other video's here and noticed the bag seemed at the right height. So I deleted that part. Was it just the video angle?

I believe from what she has said that this is the "new" bag which is considerably smaller than what she has been hitting. As her platform cannot be adjusted, Alan's suggestion of building a platform to stand on now would help tremendously.

Look at her head looking "UP" to the bag. Look at her hand movements, hitting the bag in front, going down then under, then hitting RSP an going "down" then under and back up in front. Look at the angle of her upper arm, shoulder to elbow - going upwards toward the bag. I'm thinking it's too high.

I am constantly experimenting with my height in relationship to the bag. I have a couple pieces of foundation plywood (1-1/4" thick). I had removed it just before I videotaped this clip. I am definitely lower than I should be now that I look at the video again. I'm going to work out right now and will put the board back down and see if it improves the figure 8 motion.

                Thanks for the input.

Day 2 of my Linking Practice

Most of my workout tonight was spent practicing Linking.
                  Here's a sample of it.

I know that it took me a while to get that down. Once you do, it becomes second nature.

Improving steadily, Denise. Nice job; the second video shows quite a difference. Keep it up!

I think that is much better. You look a lot more comfortable with good control.
