Interesting video presentation. Nice preparation before hanging. I've been there with the board glueing.

Keep punching and looking forward to a video of you punching.

You realize that you may possibly have the world's thickest platform, don't you?

Not to be outdone, I am going to order the below butcher block and put a swivel at the center.

              Seriously, great video and platform.

As far as other equipment, I have double-end bags and a boxing dummy that punches back. The other night it was on the 11 pm news.

lmao damn lol. That butcher block table was classic. I just was hoping that 2 pieces of mdf in addition to the everlast platform would work alright. I can feel a difference most definitely between this one I made, and the real hardwood expensive everlast platforms that they use at the different gyms I went to.

No boxing here. Although I wish I had done more than 3 years of wrestling in 7-9th grade. I am so intrigued with the dedication of boxers and all MMA cats. But to me the speed bag was always this real cool thing. From Rocky, Ali, Tyson, any footage; it always stood out as a real eye catcher with a killer sound, rhythm and technique. It makes sense as I was born a drummer. After 8 years of one sitting in my garage, it finally went up after seeing Skunk and Alan Kahn.

HAHA! The butcher block is great Atgatt! Now why are you NOT posting the coverage of your invention or even more so, not even mentioning such a cool feat here on the forum! Cmon, that's awesome!

You made a good job there bigPete. The touch with the piece of wood to reduce vibration was impressive.

thanks alot. I've been trying to think of a better way for you to water proof your platform but all I keep drawing up are blanks.

Thanks! It's all sorted now. I took Scissorhands advice and purchased a barbecue cover. I'll be using the blue sheet for extra protection during our winter months. Also made a bit of a shelter to prevent any rain water getting down the wall behind the set-up. We've had some rain and it stayed dry.
