Outward singles were the easiest for me to begin with, bring your arm up to chin level and move your elbow outwards from your body.

It's pretty easy to progress to a double from there (i.e. hit the bag with your elbow and then with your fist on the same arm after 1 rebound).

Well new video is up with new camera..

learning two new tricks.. the elbow one and the one whre you hit 2 in front 2 in back...

Also tyring to do small combos. Anyway i hope to get my new swievel this week..

And as for my elbow hits.. for some reason its easy to use my elbows on my left arm, while my right arm is much more challenging :S

anyway enjoy and critisize all you want

Downward elbow looked pretty good. I don't do that one much as I tend to hit the platform too much. Maybe skunk can give you some pointers on that one, he uses it a lot.

You could try some out or in elbows too ... raise your arm up so your upper arm is parallel to the ground and hit with the point of your elbow, either outward (away from the center of your body) or inward (towards the center of your body).

The "2 in front 2 in back" is an FDP RDP (Front Double Punch, Rear Double Punch in speed bag bible terminology). Looks good too.

You would benefit greatly from the speed bag bible, either the book or the beginner 2 hr video.

Very good progress for 15 days of practice.

That's a pretty high purpose. Take that, Rick Warren.

what wood do i use for my rebound board.

                    Options?

Plywood (gna glue couple to gether to make 2 inches thick)

Particle wood (abiout 2 inches thick)

                    OR

trying to cutsom order a maple wood or something.. not sure the cost on that yet stil getting quote, its bloody hard to find it thou in australia..

so basicaly first 2 options are more practical.. what u think and which is better?
Good-day, Im new to this forum and leaving in Australia.
A few months ago I found a old round table top it was made of solid maple wood.I took it off the frame and am going to trim it down with a jigsaw than sand it down and use it for the rebound board.
If I find another one I would probably ship you a piece!

Wow, old thread. I'm happy to say in the 5 years since I posted this I now do downward elbow frequently... how's that for progress!

The search bots turn up some interesting old threads, some worth reviving. Your elbow progress, and Ergon's dedication of his life to mastering the speed bag are both gems.
