I believe they sold both styles of course. I have read a post on here about using this carabiner swivel... I can't find the post with the search function though. Dutchman would be the likely source with info about this carabina swivel

That carabiner swivel was popular about 5-6 years ago. I think it got popular for the ease of putting or changing bags on. Basically it's a long Ballhook. Speedbag Skunk popularized it by putting out some videos using it rather "fast". I think it died along with the plastic Ballhook design.
