    Leone blowout

Well I finally got my small leone bag moving so fast (it could be true)I lost one of the rivets on the strap. Did I hear mention of others having this very same experience?
Bag is less than 2 months old and is my favorite. So much so in fact that I had just ordered the large Leone bag the day before.
    Any thoughts?

Happened to me. About the same time frame. Where did you get it? If it was from Title they have a 120 day return policy on faulty gear.. Did you ever find the piece? I did not,and wondered where it went. The new replacement is working fine but I don't hit it much.

I'm pretty sure this happened to Ms. Deville too!
(maybe I won't order that bag just yet)

If I were you, I wouldn't cancel your order for the larger bag yet. Yes, you run the risk of losing the top rivet after a short while, but it's repairable. I think you'll like the large one as much as the small one.

I have the small Leone bag and so far, the rivet hasn't popped off of it. But the top rivet popped off of the Large Leone bag that Juxt loaned to me. It happened to me shortly after receiving the bag from him.

I'm not sure, but I think the loop (which is too long on both the large and small bags) might have something to do with it. That, and the defective rivet. I think the longer loop might cause that top rivet to bump against the board when punching. (I would have to look closely at a video to see if this is happening though.) The rivets used on the bags are kind of puny and can't hold up to the pummeling of the bag and the little clips that hold the two pieces of the rivet together eventually loosen and it pops off. The tines that "wrap over" the bottom rivet piece are simply too short to keep the rivet together. I hope this makes sense.

I think it takes a special tool to attach rivets, although sometimes you can do it using other tools. I didn't have the tool, and tried to re-attach it, but gave up. The rivets are inadequate, imo. So, I improvised. I have an industrial Singer sewing machine and simply stitched the bag together where the rivet used to be.

The Leone (small) bag has become one of my favorites for the past several months. It's a good bag, made with nice soft leather (be careful not to over-inflate, or it will get misshapen). It's very easy on the knuckles. It's light and moves easily. The rivet can be a problem, but, you can do what I did by stitching it up, or you can even order some better rivets to replace the existing/missing ones. Here's an ebay link that sells rivets: http://www.ebay.com/itm/CHICAGO-SCRE...-/130945990552

If you don't want to go to the trouble of repairing it yourself, you can send it to me and I'd be happy to stitch it up for you, DC.

          Thanks gang

I thought I had heard of this happening before.
Yes I did get it from title and should be getting the big leone bag from them today.
I do have the rivet that popped off and yes it seems too small to hold right.
Thanks for the offer dee. I think I might try title first and if that doesn't go well I do have a hand riveter that may work.
Ralph, do you always unlace your bags before inflating. I haven't been doing this. Might be time to start.
I also feel like the small leone bag has been losing air a little.

I would call and tell them about it. That might be a design flaw. Plenty of great bags do not have rivets on the strap and they would do well to remove it.

                  Video

Well I came home today and attempted my first video. I got a little agro with the bag and little leone went flying. Rivet #2 gone.
Oh we'll back to the old drawing board.
Leones big brother showed up last night. Lets see what he's got.

I think you got lucky, Paranday. Dumbcluck, I fear your large Leone is destined for the same fate as the small bag. There seems to be a lot of stress put on the loop of the bag and those puny rivets are not sufficient. You can exchange the bad bag for a new one, but don't be surprised if it happens again.

Because this bag's leather feels like kid gloves, maybe we need to treat it with kid gloves. It's a lightweight bag and doesn't require hard punching to keep it going. I find it to be ideal for punch drumming to fast music. It's a lot of fun.

I don't know why, but this old video came to mind. It's called "SpeedBagSkunk's Endless Love!" It's about his black and yellow bag.
