    It's all in the elbows

This is not new for long time baggers, but for newbies like myself trying to learn some of the more fun techniques, I'm finding that whenever I mess up with front to back linking or doing punches from the back and the double side punches, it's always because I'm dropping my elbows. In trying to teach myself these techniques I've found that when I crash I try to freeze the last position my arms were in and every time I see my elbows have dropped. As soon as I concentrate on keeping them up I do better. I've tried to visualize holding a glass of water on my elbows. It helps me to keep them up and level.

This is a good visualization to improve linking the fists through the bag. The second key is the position of the belly of the bag, ideally at your chin-nose area. If it is up too high like the eyes or forehead, the even with your elbows up the fist will have to be set up higher or above your elbow, which is similiar to dropping your elbows on a lower bag position.

Thanks for those tips, every bit helps. I'll recheck my bag height. BTW I saw your book on ebay and just bought it, I look forward to reading it.
