My first speed bag was hung by a key ring. A piece of scrap plywood, and a couple of 2X4's. Then I got a clevis... Then a cheap swivel... I got better, and better stuff.

If you cant do it with a p.o.s. from Walmart, then what do you need big budget for?

That's the beauty of the speed bag...pieces of scrap wood...an eye-bolt...a bag and a piece of cord...you're baggin'!

I still love my $20 basement platform!

All 2x6 scraps...a 24x24 piece of MDF. I use it all winter long.
(of course I use a Powermill Evil Swivel now...but the rest is the same!)

NOTE... just realized, March of this year is my 2 year baggin' anniversary.

No i havent fixed it yet. I will post pictures soon. I have been using my heavy bag and been to several boxing gyms with some sparring. I started a little over 2 years ago. Spent some time with the speed bag during that time but I just started to commit to building up skill. Yep i gave my gf a spin bike and i got my speed bag. I also just set up a double end bag.

The platform has some vibration, it still works well but not as well as i think it should. The wall mounts seem solid but when I push up on the platform the adjustment screws seem to give and let the platform frame slide.
