    Help With speed bag selection

Hey guys I am interested in buying a speed bag. There was one at my fitness gym that was a Title and it was very soft and comfortable to hit with bare hands. i don't plan on using handwraps. I purchased the older classic xs Everlast and it is not comfortable to hit imo.

May you please suggest some nice bag choices for me. I saw the Promex and ringside ones.

    Thanks for your time,
    Leo

    Hi Leo,

There are MANY bags to choose from and some of the variables are size, shape, and price. You haven't said what size bag you have used or your level of speed bag experience, so I'll assume you're pretty new to the equipment and purchase.

That bottom line is you can get a very good bag for a decent price, or a similiar size bag for twice the price. That may depend on how much you want to spend, but I don't see any reason to pay $69 - $99.00 for a bag when you can get a similiar bag of good quality for half that amount. Once you get a bit more experience and feel for the bags you can always go for the more expensive bags later.

So, if you say you have used a "Title" bag and was soft and comfortable, and if you were satisfied with the action, rebound, shape and how it worked for you, then I would get a TitleBoxing Speed Bag again. IMO, Title Boxing Brand Bags are very high quality at a fair price. They stand by their products and if you get a dud, they will replace it. Many here use them. If you remember the color of the bag, you can probably get the same one you used before.

The Promex are also good speed bags, but recently several very skilled forum members here have reported their Promex bags as hitting dead and unreponsive. I personally do not know anyone who says that Promex is their bag of choice.

Many forum members do like the Cleto Rey speed bags, but you can get a good speed bag for a lot less cost. You can get three Title speed bags for one Cleto Rey. They are quality bags, but overpriced IMO.

Good luck and I hope this helps.

      Thanks for your response,

I have the Size extra small everlast yellow black older professional bag. I dont do anything special. just the normal boxing way with some variations. I saw some videos of you guys (was impressive!) I just need it for a quick 10 min a day exercise with them, after my workout. The problem is it hurts my hands. It may be due to the ribbing. I dunno but its not fun to hit. at my fitness gym they have very nice platform which I will bring my bag there.

What do you think of the Title classic bags, Cleto reyes, Ringisde? and how much are the cleto?

P.S. the bag i used previously was a title black bag. So i guess it was the medium. I think the extra small may be too small for me, especially becuase the platform is nice. Im thinking another medium or small will be good. But no way for extra small.

      Thanks,
      Leo

I just had a similar problem....so many bags to chose from.... Finally decided on the title gyro balanced 9x6 but they were out of stock, so i went with tje 10x7... I got it for a price I couldn't pass up..... It should be here the 14 so i can let you know how i like it. The freestamding platform I bought off Craigslist came with 2 everlast bags... Both seemed slow, but once I beefed up the "drum" one of the bags came alive, a cheep gray and yellow everlast. But its good enough for me being a beginner..... Title has great customer service, so I would suggest calling before you place any order to make sure they have the bag instock... Also you might be able to use THANKS as a promo code, it gave me 10% off
