Yeah, I had trouble myself mounting my Everlast platform. Wish I had stumbled across this forum sooner!

      Hey Bear....
Just thought I'd give ya a little tip for posts, as it took me a little bit of time to figure out.
If you want to respond to multiple people in one post, you can click on the "quotation mark" icon in the person's post. The q. mark turns red and remembers that post. Click the q. marks to everyone you want to reply to, and the last one click the actual word "quote". You will then see all of those posts in one response and you simply address each one in between the other, like this below.....just make sure you leave the quote labels on each side so it remains quoted.....
      BAG ON!

Good man. And as a reminder to all, Alan offers a fantastic discount on the bible in print and/or on DVD . PM him for details (speedbag)

No problem. The multi-quote is not exactly obvious. It took me 2 years to figure it out - and I run the forums!!!!!

Decades ago, my high school gym teacher taught a few of us guys the basics of speed bagging. All I could do was the basic rhythm, maybe an elbow if I got lucky. Something about it . . . I loved it. Many years passed where I did not hit the bag. A few years ago, I joined a local gym. They had a speed bag and I resumed my basic rhythm. Soon I realized that I was a one-trick pony. Along comes Google and one day I googled “speed bag.” Up came Alan Kahn and the SBB. I let my gym membership run out, put up a speed bag in my basement and have been practicing regularly from SBB ever since. And here we are.

Here’s something I’ve seen but don’t know how to do. Say you want to make a few responses to selected portions of one long post. Instead of quoting the entire post and taking up a lot of space, how do you quote only those selected portions to which you’d like to respond?

Jack - the only thing you can do in this case is delete the text you don't want that is within the QUOTE tags ... or add more QUOTE tags in the middle of the text. You need a start tag and an end tag , and they have to balance. The end tag is the one with the / character in it.

Judging by your video, 88, I'd say you have a few more tricks up your sleeve. Good work!

Thanks! Yeah, I took a couple videos of my speed bag performance, and showed them to my wife only to discover that I make some peculiar facial expressions while I'm bagging (image Heath Ledger's facial tick in Dark Knight). Perhaps after adjusting the camera's angle. :P

Make sure you take advantage of Tim's offer. In my haste, I purchased the video directly from Amazon. Had I taken the time to read Tim's post, I would have saved a few books by going directly through Alan. Although I haven't got my hands on the SPB, I can say the video has been worth every penny!

i started in august 2008. i bought a cheap red everlast walmart special and a plastic ball s hook swivel. i bought some speed bag gloves too with the metalrod that goes across the palm. set it all up in my garage. i screwed around for a couple months till it got like -20*C. then i diddnt touch the bag until july 2009. started watching vids on you tube. skunk, tichy and scissorhands were the first guys i saw. i was like holy sh*t!!, started makin vids as speed bag stud for a while, changed the name in febuary to speed bag affliction. thats how i got started. i plan on making episodes of speedbag affliction more professionally as in camera angles, intro, a cool logo, and planned sequences instead of just randoms like i did before!
Anyway, thats my story, hope you enjoy!

Yeah, speed bagging in -20° C (-4° F)--definitely not conducive to speed bagging! Rather be in Florida! Great fist roll techniques, Chris! (My name is also Chris). And I don't know if it was the video, but you were getting pretty interesting sounds out of that homemade platform of yours.
