Here's a pic of me with the speed bag next to me. I realized how low it was after looking at this pic. So what I did was, I have a stool that I can sit on which gives me a much better height until I fix my platform to raise it. So check out the 2nd day video of me and also see if the height is sufficient for now? Thanks!

hey Tooslow. Your name has no confidence in it and sounds like you look at the cup as being half empty. You should change it to "Preparing To Dominate" or something like that! Yes the bag is too low. It is "Devito" low. You will be happy when raise it. I'd secure it to the ceiling. BAG ON!:

Hahaha thanks for the suggesion but hoping it'll one day become more of an irony. Also, did you see the video I just posted w/ the pic? I was sitting while I was bagging this time so the height was more perfect than how it was the first day.

Yes I did see it. Good job. But man, sitting is a whole other world. To learn to bag, I think you need to be able to move and groove with the bag and let your body have something to do with it. Sitting creates a too regimented style as beginners should take advantage of all they can.
Get that board in the ceiling and stand up! Remember, speed bags come from the boxing world, (right guys?????) and boxers don't sit in the ring. You need to take advantage of your bodies natural equilibirum and balance or at least work to improve those things as you bag! It all ties together. Sit down when you are eating or watching tv!
          BAG ON!

so stay tuned and have fun
by the way : welcome to the forum...

Spin, I'm on it asap! I have a different plan for the ceiling idea with a 2nd bag, larger bag, saw it on youtube. Basically tie a small roap to it make it hang down a little more and this is to practice from getting hit in the head. Of course it's not as quick but I was pretty impresed with the video.

Here it is let me know what you think of him also: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nuvM-...eature=related

Tomorrow or Saturday I'll have time to adjust my platform once I make new arms for it. I too want to stand and do it as I can move around. If I put it on the ceiling, I will still have to stand on a small step which will prevent me from moving around as well.

Baggaholics, thanks for the warm welcome. Welcome to yourself as well in the forum. My friend is also having a little trouble, although I dont know if he's being totally serious or not but he just can't tet the 1-2-3 rhythm going. And yes it is very fun and everyday I'm work, I can't wait to go home and start bagging. It's addictive I tell ya!

That's really good for first day, honestly. Great job.

Definitely let some air out of that bag. There is no reason speed bagging will make your hands hurt, especially if you are wearing gloves or wraps. Pain likely means TOO much air. Just keep letting air out until the pain goes away.

Either way, few setups are more stable than a ceiling drum.
That looks sharp Mello. How many platforms are you up to now ?

Height looks better there, might still be a inch too high though. It won't matter much when hitting from the front, but when you start linking and passing fists to the back side of the bag, it will make a big difference. Rule of thumb is "belly" (fattest part) of the bag at mouth level.

This is what I like to see. New baggers, showing their goods.

                    Keep those vids coming.

Hello guys, I've been missing for a few days I guess, but still bagging while not coming here as often. I was able to make the new arms for my platform. Check these pics out. I am having a little vibration problem evern with 45 lbs on top so I have another idea to put couple arms that will attatch to the ceiling making it hard to vibrate. But check out the pics. Thanks!

Well guys, as much as it looked solid, I had a good amount of vibration so this is what I did and it is PERFECT. I can tell, it made a huge difference bagging today.
