    free standing speed bag?

free standing speed bag?I am just getting started down this road. I have a bag stand with a heavy bag on one side and speed bag on other side. I have seen several U tube videos on how to make a much heaver board for a speed bag mounted to a wall.

How much difference is there between them? and would it make any difference if I added another board or two to my platform? thanks.

There is a lot of vibration with the majority of free standing platforms. The way that the board is attached to the main frame is frankly a bit on the flimsy side. Just adding to the board does little good. There are commercial free standing set ups that are quite stout, but they are also very expensive.

I would think that would help stabilize it, Maybe two supports in the back corners

That's what I was thinking. Run a 2x4 or 4x4 across top of drum and about 6" beyond drum on each side. then add supports to floor or base of stand.
