    Vintage Everlast Platform on ebay

    FYI.

The restoration is a bit off. A nice piece nonetheless.

WOW... that's a lot like my old Spalding...a lot. Did Everlast steal the design or buy it?
    (sure is RED!)

I'm not sure but I think that this is one of the Narrengansett based platforms. They offered several different ones , besides the professional one that is much desired by us.

A gym I go to had a similar one. The striking board was a wood composite and the arms a less ornate design. It also adjusted by a worm screw. It was a natural color, but, couldn't say if this one was red originally. It actually was a very sturdy platform, so I suspect this one would be as well.

This is pretty much the same design as mine....same locking adjustment...same 'arms'.
          Take a look:

My ONLY question... why that bright red?

Someone had a lot of red enamel around, that or it was in a firehouse. Yes there is a lot of similarities between the one listed and yours, Joe. There was a period of time when Everlast was buying up the boxing lines of several old line sporting goods companies. I've seen this style platform in old Everlast catalogs, and it's not like the others they listed.

Thanks Dutchman. If this was a bit cheaper, I'd consider it....it is in my neck of the woods. The first thing I'd do is strip that red off it and get it back to a beautiful natural wood finish!
