    That is a loaded question....

    however, this is the very first time I ever saw a 4200 with a zipper top closure. All the ones I had (lots in previous years) had leather string ties.

    Ya learn something every day around here.....

          There was a brief period of time that the pro line of bags had zippers instead of laces. It would have to have been in the late 1940's,early 50's, as that's when the change in the cataloging numbers was done. I've seen a couple of bags from that era that had the zipper, I recall a 4202 that had one.

            Wasn't the 4202 a 10x7? I think the 4204 was the 8x5 and 4200 the 9x6. No sense to that order.

              Yes, the 4202 was the largest bag in the pro line, it was numerically the 4200, 4202, and the 4204. I've never seen a 4201, or 4203. Perhaps these numbers were reserved for bags that never made it to production, or were kept for special orders.

                Here is what I have on their size listings

                Everlast

                4200 Black 9 x 6 Sonic SB Glazed Kidskin leather welted.

                4201 Black 10 x 7 Jet SB " "

                4202 Black 11 x 8 Super SB " "

                4204 Black 8 x 5 Astro SB

                4205 Red 13 x 10 Leatherneck YMCA Horsehide leather, welted.

                4207 Red 14 x 9 Military

                4208 Red 13 x 8 Budget Not welted (no bead seam)

                4210 Red 11 x 8 Genuine Leather

                4212 Red 14 x 9 Genuine Leather

                4213 Red 11x 8 Military

                4214 Red 10 x 7 Budget (Brown) Not Welted (no leather seam)

                4217 Red Plasticon Economy piece of crap.

                +++++++++++++++++++++++++++

                But I also have this...

                Everlast SB sizes

                8x5 = 4204
                9x6 = 4200
                10x7 = 4214, 4201 (maybe 4202 & 4213)
                11x8 = 4210, 4213, 4226(vinyl)
                over 11x8 = 4205, 4207, 4208 and 4212.
                +++++++++++++++++++++

                I'm pretty sure I've seen a 4201 in the past, and it reminded me of the 10x7 4214 in size and shape, just bounced a whole lot better. Seems to me that the 4202 was larger, very much in size and shape like the 11x8 Red 4210.

                replacement bladder info from years ago may shed some light on sizes.

                    I've got two 4207's. They are the long neck style, and from my experience they are slower than the 4205's

                      The 4205 is one of life's pleasures. Nothing else quite like it in feel.

                          4205 was like Punching the Hidenburg. Huge.

                            The Hindenburg is a good analogy. Huge, but lighter than air. Fill it with hydrogen and go out with a bang, I say.

                              Nah..... I'll let you have it. I just wanted it for the zipper oddity. I've got a zippered Aussie Bag, a couple of 4200's AND a 4204. If you need this one you can have it. I won't bid on it anymore.
