For what it's worth, here's two more, I have no idea about the vintage:

50 bucks? Is this a fair price? Pardon the new guy but this seems expensive. Is it because of the age or do these older swivels really work well or both? thank you

The older swivels were made of a better grade of steel, and they weren't plated to hide a multitude of sins. The later versions the plating and then the metal would flake off and fly into your eyes. There are/were people on this board that had that happen to them. Now these are obviously being aimed at a collectors market more than for someone who is actually going to use them for what they are intended for. We are seeing the asking prices on old style Everlast swivels skyrocket in the last year or so. If you are looking for a swivel to actually use, you are better off buy a new DeVille or Powermill rather than fork over this amount of dough for a used one.

Maybe for the both of them, if you desperately want a couple of good old everlast ball hook swivels, heavy on the desperately. I agree with Dutchman, the sellers of these may think they will attract collectors. I have paid that much for older vintage items from much earlier than these. To me the only real attraction to one of them is the offset S hook, which I really like, and the apparent lack of wear around the eye-bolt connections. Those really wore badly toward the end of this swivels production. As Dutch said, the plating in those last models had a tendency to flake off and I got it x2, once requiring a visit to my eye doctor for treatment. I doubt that would happen with these two. But I have a few of them around already and can't justify this price for another one.

Bear in mind I post these because there has been an interest in the past, an item showing up here does not come with an endorsement of its worth.
