Any chance the socket is zinc? I have some everlast sockets with a similar look and they are zinc.@ArcSwivel

Could be zinc, or aluminum, I've had experiences with small foundries that poured both. I haven't had an Everlast socket in about twenty plus years. My current set up uses a Ringside swivel that is a hybrid U bar that also accepts an old school Everlast ball & hook

I made my Arc swivels with <2.0mm headroom so the ball would not "jump" or "float" no matter how poorly you hit. Many ball swivels I have seen have a relatively large headroom.@ArcSwivel

In the pic above, I would estimate there is at least 5.0mm of headroom, maybe more.@ArcSwivel
