    Set-up with light

    Hello !

I have been planning a speed bag construction for some time , but when I found this forum - and Mr Speedbag’s excellent pages - I really got inspired to start my project.

I wanted a roof mounted platform and I had this idea of adding an illumination function to the design.

I sort of built the platform over the existing lamp and intigrated some LED:s in the platform hardwood.

Now I just have to start master the bag (Practice , Practice …)

Here are (hopefully) some pix :

          Speed bag light.

Now THIS is absolutely amazing. A true work of speed bag art.

I don't know if it gets any better than this. ( OK - a ballhook swivel would be nice.....)

          Awesome home made unit.

            Thanks for your kind comments.

I am rather tall - but I think the photo makes the room look larger than it is.

OK - a ballhook swivel would be nice
I also got a ballhook swivel (plastic) from Everlast - I will try it soon…but with a non-optimal swivel I have an excuse for my shortcomings with the bag.

Hello dbirdmma , thanks for your positive response.

I haven´t noticed any movement/vibration in the platform ( it weights well over 100 lbs and are tightly secured in the attic upstairs ) and the lamps hasn’t flickered (yet).

The bag can´t in any way touch the lamps.

The little lamps are LED:s and I think and hope that they are more durable than other lamps.

It was a "left-over" piece at the timber yard ( still it was 30$ )

                      wow

yes that is very impressive!! what a great idea!!! Im sure it doesnt move at all. i have found that the only platform that has no vibration is one that is screwed directly into the studs of the ceiling!!! very good work and hope to see a posted video of you tearin it up as well!

Keep the chainlink swivel. It will be more aesthetically pleasing to the eye (in my opinion) than the plastic swivel will be in your grand setup. Also, if that is an everlast chainlink swivel, then I definitely would not call it non-optimal. That swivel rocks and works better than other chainlink swivels in all planes.

I hate to state the obvious, but that set up is amazing. A day ago I was talking about making my inside speed bag look nicer, but my friend, you take the cake.

Excellent idea! I would love a set up indoors but, haven't got the room. This or something similar could be the answer!
