I got one of these for my kids. It's not much to play with but gives them the feeling that they are doing what daddy is doing. I also let them hit on my platform.
Oh, and by the way, my 4 year old son got a real drum set for Christmas. My 6 year old daughter got a guitar and amplifier and a real P.A. With a microphone for each of them.
As someone with a life-long interest in music, I'd like to say that the the best thing you can do for a kid is to give them something REAL. Sounds like you did this exact thing, Jimbo, and the payoff will be apparent shortly. Kids know what music is supposed to sound like, and anything less than REAL is disappointing and discouraging because they don't realize that the otherwise crappy sound is about the equipment and not about their ability. You're a great Dad for going extra mile.
That's great! You should be jammin' with them...do you? Too cute...love your daughter's boots! (this reminds me of when mine were little....not I just hear from them when they need money! )
Yeah, I jam with them when they let me. I also have a 9 1/2 year old niece who lives with us now. (Which is why I've been away for a few months) I got her a short scale jaguar bass for Christmas too. No photos because her mother hasn't brought her back over from Christmas break yet. She's gonna be stoked though!
Life is good.
