    Finally finished my first setup

    Hello All!

Last year I attended a wedding and stayed with a friend. While at his house I tried out his speed bag and fell in love with it. I had a lot of fun and felt it was great exercise to compliment going to the gym.

I set out to do some research and figure out what I wanted to get. It took me several months to figure out the right platform (after reading around on these forums), decide where I wanted to mount the setup and actually do all the work.

I ended up painting a room, getting 2x4's stained and mounted my platform across several studs to keep it secure. I'm terrible at doing things around the house, but I got to say, all my planning and measuring worked perfectly and the platform is a great success.

Thanks to Deville swivels for your fine craftsmanship! The platform is a Balazs i-Box, No. 13 Deville swivel and a Title Gyro 5x8 bag.

I realize my setup is rather tough for a beginner, seeing as the small bag in conjunction with the ball-hook swivel is unforgiving, however I have pretty good hand eye coordination and feel it will help me improve my accuracy and reaction time!

    Nice setup!

Hey Matt, I love your workout corner. Nice job on the paint and stain, etc. I'm glad you're happy with the swivel. A ball-hook can be very challenging at first. But, once you "get it" you end up having much more control over the bag and you can power through when you mess up. You'll see what I mean…

Really nice job. I went ahead and embedded one of the pictures. Hope you don't mind.

Yea it is definitely more challenging, but I like that lol. I feel that if I can learn on this, other bag platforms will be a breeze.

I'm already having a good time, needing a break today, shoulders are killing me haha.

sweet setup, no 'it's cold in the garage' whining from you!
1 Corinthians 1:18 For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God.

Nope, living in Florida, it is the opposite. I do have a large fan that blows right into the corner of the room so that really helps. Got some speakers for my phone to play music off of too.
