Thanks, I'm waiting for my rubber flooring, double end bag and Mauy Thai heavy bag. I've discontinued my local MMA gym membership until I finish my pseudo gym,motorcycle maintenance, and carpentry zone.

My ceiling storage unit is in progress to clear all floor clutter. Merry Christmas.

Thanks, I'm still on CD1 Speedbag bible, learning the basics, it's exhilarating, once you get a good battle rhythm.

Question: Is it unusual to place artwork on the Drum? I figured if Everlast can do it, than i'll add my own personal flare... After several sealant/clear coats:


Also, I'm working on building a vertical wall mounted drum, any great threads or advice?

Awesome artwork on the drum.

If you're going to put up a vertical drum as well, it's pretty easy. You can pick up a 24" tabletop round at the local building supply store (Lowe's is where I got mine) and simply attach it to the wall. Just find the two studs behind the wall – they're usually 16-18" apart, get screws that are long enough to go through the 1"-thick round and an inch or two into the sheetrock and studs. You can even use a 24" squared piece of 1"-thick wood or plywood. It's best if you bevel the edges of it…

Here's what my partner installed at a gym in Albuquerque, New Mexico last summer. The wall was cinderblock, but he attached a couple of 2x4's before installing the platform, and added a squared off drum down below it for a vertical setup. You can experiment with the height of the vertical drum.

Positioning of the vertical drum is probably up to the individual to some degree. And it might also depend on the size of the bag. Here are a couple of videos that might help you. I suppose you would want it positioned high enough that you can punch it easily, but you also have to make sure that you can be out of the way of the speed bag when it comes up to strike the top half of the platform. Here are a couple of clips of my partner, Raul. We had this vertical drum mounted on the side of a panel truck last summer. Raul's punching on a large Cleto:
