Sciss, man you need to make a clear plexiglass platform to show an overhead view of your hitting. It would give a dimension I don't think anyone else has done before.
He made many film clips of himself from up above on a clear plexiglass board. He did that to use the film frames to draw the many pictures of hitting the bag in two dimensions (1) side view (2) over head view. He had many of the frames developed into pictures so he could hand draw the perspective. (Yes he did hand draw each picture. Now That's dedication!).
The board is shown on the cover of his book (below) and a few technique pages from inside show the drawings. the pen scratching on the pages is mine, interpeting his work and pictures in "my" own terminology and adding the number or rebounds between movements (Something his did not account for easily).
I doubt any of this filmed footage ever saw the light of public display, but he had several film cans of it in his office along with a projector to watch it.Last edited by Speedbag; 02-27-2010, 01:09 PM.Speed Bag

Alan, thanks, very interesting. I did a search for his book on Amazon and found it below, and just as I thought as I found it, I assumed you wrote a review for it, and sure-nough.
Sounds like a great book and found these pics of you two together.
Maybe someday the see-thru platform will be made to be filmed again for all to see.

I wonder if he still hits the bag?

BTW, Scissorhands, looks like your legend continues to grow.
