My name is Mike and I'm from Massachusetts. I'm trying to learn to use a speed bag in order to increase my stamina for playing hockey. Running on my off days was not giving my legs enough time to recover for games so I am hoping this will help reduce fatigue (plus, so far, it is much more interesting). I have already learned quite a bit and want to give thanks for all the contributions to the site.
First post and thanks for the many contributers

I find that I get the best workout in my legs when I'm hitting on my biggest and heaviest bag, a large Cleto Reyes. Makes me have to really "dance" into the punch.

Welcome to the forum! Being in upstate New York, speed bagging has really helped my snow shoveling....and as you know, we've needed it this year! (And I'm not kidding at all)
I'm sure it will be a great addition to your workout and a whole lot of fun.Art of the Bag - A Speed Bag Story

I remember during a visit with family in "The Great White North" i popped into a sporting goods store. Low and behold right next to the enormous selection of hockey gear was a very good selection of "striking bags". I use this terminology as these were new "old school" bags, larger than what you would normally find in the States. The clerk I talked to said that just about everyone that bought hockey gear also eventually bought striking bags.
