Just a reminder: Our own speed bag master "SpeedBagAtaraxis" (Matthew Santiago) has the lead role in the play "The Grapes of Wrath" at UNY Ulster's Theater.

UNY Ulster’s Theater program will present John Steinbeck’s Grapes of Wrath by Frank Galati with seven live performances at the College’s Quimby Theater in Stone Ridge. Performances are: April 17 - 19, 8 p.m.; April 24 – 26, 8 p.m.; and April 27, 3 p.m.
Directed by SUNY Ulster’s theater coordinator Stephen Balantzian, the story follows the Joad family and their flight from the dust bowl of Oklahoma. Renowned first as a novel, then a prize-winning motion picture, the play is a soaring and deeply moving affirmation of the human spirit and the essential goodness and strength that reside in the hearts and minds of the “common man.” It is the winner of the 1990 Tony Award and Outer Critics Circle Award.
Student performers include: Matthew Santiago of Stone Ridge in the role of Jim Casey; Duncan Crowley, Kerhonkson as Tom Joad; Tyler Williams, Highland, Pa; Abbey Ressa, Saugerties, Ma; Charlotte Drobnicki, Accord, Grandma; Rich Cattabiani, Hurley, Grandpa; Anthony Bangert, Kerhonkson, Noah; Jeanne Milner-Clinton, Saugerties, Ruthie; Elijiah Diiorio, Kingston, Uncle John; Jillian Kahn, Bearsville, Rose of Sharon; Brandon Cepeda, Kerhonkson, Connie; Matt Wilhelm, Napanoch, Al; Rachel Lennox, Phoenicia, as Elizabeth Sandry. In addition, Savion Hastings Ward, a Rondout Valley High School student, will play the role of Winfield. The play also features numerous students in the ensemble.

I was lucky enough to see a few of the first Raw rehearsals. Matt was awesome and will Rock the house in this part.
