Tweaked my design a little bit, the links on the first post will now go to the latest design for the Gang Banger. The hardware should be here today, so I'll probably build it this weekend. Looking forward to giving it a test run in San Antonio when the Lynch Mob comes through.

I hadn't thought of trying that. Isn't the shipping killer ? My box of bolts for both racks is probably 20 lbs at least.

Looking forward to seeing the gang banger leap off the blueprints and into real life

Yeah, the hardware was pretty heavy, I think it was about $25 shipping. I probably could have found most of the stuff at Home Depot, but I just ordered everything together for convenience.

Well, the Gang Banger 1.0 is alive. I built it last night, and it is standing in my garage right now. I followed everything as it was drawn, and it worked out perfectly. Actually, I did make the holes just a little bigger than what the plans showed, just to allow for any minor inaccuracies. I'll post a couple pics or a video tonight.

That ain't bad at all. I figured it would be a lot more than that.

              Great work. Platt approved

Looks like you'll be in good shape for the Lynch Mob to come to town.

I like the idea of keeping the hardware in a protein jug. Good idea. The cardboard box I use is just about busting at the seams.

I've lost the receipts from the cages I put together, so I'm gonna go back to home depot and get the individual piece costs and figure out what they cost to build.

One thing I forgot, it looks like any bag get together in the future is going to need a Vertical platform, don't forget to add one of those.

Also , what kind of wood is that?

Awesome! Look forward to seeing it in action. About how much was your total cost on that?

I'm really looking forward to loading it up with some platforms. Looks like San Antonio will be the maiden voyage. I'll have to break a bottle of champagne on it before we start bagging.

Whoever can make it to SA should come on down. I've got all the holes pre-drilled for the Balazs (22.5"), but I need someone to confirm the Everlast vertical spacing, so I can get those drilled.

Total cost came out to about $300.

I'll have to make a vertical platform attachment.

What date is that? Doubt I can make it, but who knows.

Everlast can vary by WHEN the platform was built. The older ones are 21.5" , the newer ones are 22.5", I believe, but I don't have a new one in front of me. IT DEFINITELY CHANGED FROM THE OLD ONES !!!!

Total cost came out to about $300.
I'll have a total on mine shortly, going to home depot now to get the prices (lost all my receipts).

I'm hanging one today as well

Lynch Mob will be in SA July 24th, so that will probably be the first time the Gang Banger is put to use. I'll add some mounting holes for the Everlast platforms.

It would be sick if we had all 6 boards in action.

D'oh, no way I can make that. My son's birthday party is that day.

Costs of transportation were approx $285 for a 8'x5' u-haul trailer for 14 days and 2,200 miles of driving at 15 MPG in the tow vehicle, which is about $410 in gas. I had the u-haul so long because this was a family vacation. That cost would have been 1/2 that if I'd only gone to the event with it. So the point is though that there is a 'break even' point somewhere around 1,200 or 1,500 miles where the costs to transport start to out weight the costs of making these onsite.

Quite frankly I don't see myself driving these to the west coast at any point (2,500 miles one way).

Wow, lumber is expensive in Florida! Why are the 4'x4' cages more expensive? How come more 1/2" hardware?

As far as having them available in different regions they may have to be stored by some kind souls in different areas like Spinsmashpop and someone else mentioned.

In any event, they look great!
