    New member saying hello

    Hello all,

I've been lurking and reading some of the posts here for about the last month and decided to register.

While I have a considerable amount of experience with the heavy bag I've only recently started with the speed bag. I actually found some really good youtube videos that helped me with timing and counting so I could begin to develop some rhythm. I'm still very new at it and have a long way to go.

My wife just bought me the Everlast Elite Adjustable speed bag platform for Christmas. I'm still in the process of figuring out the best method to attach it to the cinder block wall where I workout. So far I've read several different methods using a variety of mounting hardware.

Anyway that's a little about me. I'm glad to have found this forum and hope to read and learn as time goes on.

Thanks...but it will be a little while before I post any videos. I definitely want to in the future though to get some honest feedback on bad habits and ways to improve skill and technique.

          hello, welcome
Don't buy your speed bag from the same place you buy your tackle box.

Thanks all for the warm welcome to the forum. After some research I cut down a 2x4 pre drilled holes then used a masonry bit to drill the cinder block. I lined up the top holes and started to secure the 2x4 to the wall. Once I had the tops lightly secured I used liquid nails on the back of the 2x4 and finished securing the 2x4 sections with tapcons. Overall I'm very satisfied with the outcome. It's very secure and stable with little to no vibration.

Sounds like it will be rock solid. Concrete is very solid. Tapcons are a good connector. enjoy. Pictures?

Thanks. I've made sure the drum is level and everything is real secure. So far I haven't noticed any movement or vibrations.
