    New Guy from Michigan

    Just stumbled on this forum.

I havent hit my bag in a lot of years, wallked by it yesterday and it was drooping. Inflated it and had a great time, although real rusy.

I bought Alan's book and VHS tape (Speedbag bible) around 15 years ago if I remember right, and bought the DVD version later on.

The intrest has re-kindled, looking forward to getting back into it. I'm an old fart at 66, but still don't do bad.

Looking forward to the info in this foru on what gear is being used now. The only bag I have left is an Everlast 4212.

    Welcome!

Welcome back to the addiction, KenO. You're the same age as my partner, Raul. He has been bagging on and off most of his life. I consider myself a newbie at just a little over 4 years. But. I'm hooked.

This is a great message board. Everyone is friendly and anxious to talk speed bag with you.

Hey Ken, so you were that guy from Michigan that bought that book 15 years ago? Thanks for that! Glad to have you online and get you back into bagging. Equipment has changed, some for the better, some worse. Any suggestions just depend on what you need and prefer. This forum has an amazing group of talented folks who can either make or supply just about any piece equipment, or knowledge of the history of it. There is also a major documentary film coming out about "The Art of the Speed Bag", shot, edited and produced by a forum member.

there is also a national convention, or gathering of sorts, every Summer in New Jersey. We've had four of them so far, number 5 coming this summer. There is also a fall gathering this year in the same location, Real Gymm, Keyport New Jersey later this fall. There are some posts about that in the convention topics. Good to have you and hope to see some video clips of you punching soon!

Ehhh 66 is not that old.

Great bunch of folks on this forum - learned a lot from them and it is helping a lot. I've got a long way to go myself - but I agree the SpeedBag bible is a great reference. I have the DVD and the Book.

            Enjoy!

            Have a great One !!!
