    clip for chainlink swivel

I have a chain link swivel that is missing the clip that holds the "dog bone" plate on the two prongs ( I hope this makes sense). I've tried using 2 "e clips", but that doesn't seem to work. I can't get the right size "e clips." Does anyone have an extra clip? I've been to allan's post about using tape to hold the "dog bone" plate, but that doesn't last long. This swivel is used in a gym so it gets a lot of abuse.
I've emailed Ryan (powermill) about purchasing one of his swivels but have not heard back from him (been over a week).
Opinions on the Deville # 13 swivel?
    Thanks.

A.N.S.I No. 60 (3/4 Pitch * 1/2 Width) - (1/2" is the length of the "E" prongs) will fit the EverLast Chainlink swivels. I can't find the distributor I used, but they were very reasonably priced at about $1.00 each - so look around on the INet. If I can find the receipt, I'll post the seller.

I recently acquired a DeVille No. 13, and it is SWEET! Nice and quiet, beautifully made, and perfect action. Go for it if you bring your own bags to the gym.

    Found it: http://www.ombwarehouse.com/All-Other-Chain/
Bottom of page: #60 Chain Master Link
    #60 Chain Master Link. CCL-60.
    SKU: R406 99 cents.

        Thanks.

If you look down this link to Section that says "Swivel News Flash"" you will see a picture of a quick fix for that problem.

thanks alan, I saw that tip and tried it..didn 't hold for long...it may be that the piece of tape was not thin enough....I'll try it again..

Had a similar problem. As it turns out, the link is a quick link for a motorcycle chain. I can't recall the size off hand, but if you call a motorcycle supply house with the dimensions they should be able to help you out. They did not sell the clip separate, so you may need to buy the whole link which ran $5 or so if my memory serves me correctly.

I was just at the local Ace hardware today-happened to see a whole row of parts for all kinds of chain links. You might try there.

                Thanks.
the deville is easy to switch bags, i prefer the action over the old everlast chain links i always used in the past but it seems a little less forgiving at times(better for me)--it is harder to clean and has a little mouse that shows up at times--next time ryan makes some power mills i will try to score one for my second board as i hear it makes more noise(turn up the VOLUME PLEASE)but other than the noise factor i prefer the #13 over the old link--dd

thanks so much...great forum here...the link is an ANSI # 60---I tried several motorcycle shops and their chains much smaller. Also tried ACE hardware last week...biggest chainlink they had was a #50.
I even tried to use linchpins and "e" clips to no avail. I did contact OMB parts and they have it and are supposed to send me one. thanks again.
I'm trying to hold out for a powermill swivel, but not sure when they will be available.

I called OMB and "whined" alot and the lady there mailed me the clip for free!
They only sell the master link as a kit, but she found a loose clip.

Be careful using that "loose clip".

They're 99 cents! The whole kit! The link, the "dogbone", and the clip come in a little plastic package. I've bought them myself. You might have to buy 2 of them in order to check-out (over $1.00 required). Why would you not be grateful to pay 99 cents for a part that's so difficult to find? I even think their shipping is free.

Please don't be proud about "whining a lot" and bullying a lady into spending her time, energy, and postage over a buck or two. You better go back and buy something to help them put food on their table.

I try my best to stay neutral here in the forum, and I'm sorry if I burst your balloon, but I'm a little embarrassed that I recommended them to you.

Is there something to this story that I'm not understanding?? I sure hope so.
