    Anybody around Corvallis Oregon?

    Hey baggers,

Just wondering if we have any members in Oregon, maybe not far from Corvallis...

I recently spoke with Dr. David Blatt M.D. of Corvallis, and he is a dedicated bagger (see video below). He says he would love to meet some other speed bag enthusiasts that may want to get together with him and help his efforts. Both he and his friend, along with a few others in his classes, have Parkinson's and He would love to get some help from anyone who can make the trip. I know we have some great folks up in the northwest.

I'm in Eugene, only 40 minutes south of Corvallis. I'm not all that proficient yet so don't know how much I can help with techniques, but it would be fun to meet up if the timing works out for me. What did he have in mind to do and when??

I don't really have a plan, just trying to find him some local support from our bagging community and let him meet some folks. He really believes in the bag and it's positive effects on PD. Maybe meeting some other enthusiastic baggers will offer some hope and motivation.

Perhaps give him a call at his phone number listed here and tell him (leave a message, he will call back) you are a member of SBF and you saw his video and heard about him and would like to get together. I told him about the forum today in a long phone conversation. I'm sending him and his friend some training materials and told him that I'd see there were any members in the area. He was pretty excited about it. He is a really nice guy.

I just sent him an email to see what he had in mind and what kind of help, if any, I could be.

I haven't got a reply yet, but some people don't check their email as often as I do. BTW are you planning any trips to the Northwest anytime soon? We actually have water in our rivers up here, it might be a nice change from Texas.

I wish I could. Plenty of awesome baggers and martial artists around Oregon, Washington and Vancouver areas, as well as some college and work friends who have ended up in that area.

Yeah, we're getting a bit dry down here. And the water is usually a bit "dusty".

....If he doesn't not anwer the email, call him. He got back to me on the phone in less than 30 minutes.

I called and also emailed David, he responded via email rather quickly.(david@exerciseforparkinsons.com) The bags are shipping out to him in the morning. He said he doesnt actually have his own facility, but the gym he uses, has all the training equipment there, and he will see that the bags I send, are used for helping with the Parkinson's training.
