Question about ball hook swivels

Hi there,

I have one question regarding the ball hook swivels, which is, what is the benifit of the "S" shaped hook, I mean, if we were able to attach the bag to the eye bolt that is attached to the metal ball in the swivel, would this be fine, or it would affect the ball bouncing...can I use a carabiner or a key ring? Is it related to bag mounting?

Am asking this, because am in the later stages of building my totally homemade metal ball hook swivel and trying to shorten the rebound action elements

the answer is YES you can attach the bag directly to the eye hole of the shank if you want. Some use Bag ties, Some have used shoe strings and some have used copper wire. The S-Hook just makes it easier, and a bit longer.

Carabiners' have been used a lot also.

The S-hook itself mainly helps you attach bags easier. It normally doesn't effect the bags action if that is what you're asking. The Ball inside the housing simply turns and pins in reaction to a punch.
