I haven't used it in years, but when I did ( for using a bag constantly, lots of use, inflation up and down, lots of water, hot humid environment..etc. ) It was great for keeping the leather soft and pliable. Particularly when a bag was constantl wet with sweat, then dried etc. along with deflating bag. These two things were really tough on the leather so I treated my bags with it about x1 week.

I don't anymore for my bags are not exposed to that kind of use or environment anymore.

thank you for your reply , mine are in use by me only so i probably fall in to the same situation where they are not subject to a lot of moisture etc..although i did apply 1 coat to all my leather bags today.i have heard some different opinions but do you believe by applying a coat that it weakens the leather at all (breaks it down)...? are your speedbags that you used to apply it to still in good shape ? .. thank you

It never weakened the leather that I remember. Cracks and wear weaken the leather. Keeping the surface pliable should not (IMO).

Honestly those bags have to gone for many years now. We're talking over 20 years ago when I was working out in the "hot house" of a University Gym and Fort Benning Ga (the bag in the first minute of this video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xP7qWhkUwHc was probably the last bag I used it on... And it is not an 9x6 Everlast 4200. It was an 11x8 model.)
Best I remember, I left this bag with the gym and when I left Georgia (1982) I left the bag there.

I treated the bags (these were 9x6 Everlast 4200) used in the 1991 and 1994 segments of that video with another leather cream for I couldn't find Mink Oil. Texas, with it's Saddle crazy culture has lots of leather outlets and products. I Never had a problem with the oil or the bags (until they died of being beaten to death. 1990 - 1995 were my "prolific years" under the board and In 1996 I changed from strictly Everlast bags to Ringside. I don't remember treating any ringside bags with leather treatment. I was no longer hitting in a HOT texas garage but had put a speed bag unit in an upstairs bedroom, shown in the "1996" segment, starting at 1:42, shot while filming my training video's. )

Think of applying a protector to your bags like polishing your shoes. It makes them look better and keeps the leather from cracking too fast.

Did you order it "through me" on the forum? I don't remember that. It would have been cheaper and I'd autographed it for ya. That in itself is worth and extra 25 cents when you auction it on ebay...
