    Fixed up my drum

I fixed up my drum with a piece of aluminum traffic sign blank which i purchased from Hall signs, the 24" diameter circle fit perfect over my old drum and is working great, It seems to rebound a little faster than my old pressed wood drum. The aluminum is .080 thickness which = 26 sheets of copy paper and the total cost was $22.10 that included the shipping. They also have square shaped blanks.www.hallsigns.com

Do you get any reverberation? I'm assuming the plate is not glued to the drum?

I get a little vibration but no more than i had before. I just bolted the metal to the drum, i didnt think of gluing it, that might have been better. I would still love to have a nice maple drum, maybe RPG will come up with some!!

It's pretty solid, my old drum was kinda warped, so at least i know it's solid and level.
