    Technical question

I hit on an 8x5 promex and an all metal ball hook. How much of a difference would moving to a 9x6 bag be? I am trying to find the perfect setup without buying a bag "just to see". I keep miss hitting alot and I am wondering if a little bigger bag would make a major difference or not (very frusturating)! Maybe its me just needing to get used to the ball hook cause i used to hit on a U-bolt. So I am blaming the "bag" and the "swivel" right now. lol

Yeah brother, It'll just be a matter of getting used to it. Even though there's only an inch difference (which varies dramtically from vendor to vendor), the 8x5 is much quicker, and, the ball/hook swiv is going to be your truest reflection of "where" you hit the bag and how it'll rebounds. It's much less forgiving in some respects than the chain/link and Ubolt swivs. Which I think is why they're most popular when punching from different angles/linking etc. I've seen your vids and you're a great bagger, just give it some time. Hope this helped.

Stick with it, you'll adjust over time. The first 2-3 weeks on a ball hook does feel almost like starting over again. But you'll be better off in the long run, especially when you get in to lots of side punches.

I've been having an "off week." Not sure what it's about. I'm blaming that wacky harvest moon from several nights back...I'm convinced that it affects my inner bio-rhythm...

I've taken a few days break from punching, to see if I just needed some rest.

I also fiddle around with my platform from time to time. Not the one over my head, but the one underneath my feet. I stand on a wood palette, and sometimes, I feel like I'm either too high or too low to the bag. This week, I decided I was too high, and lo and behold, my punching improved after lowering myself by an inch or so...

Sometimes I feel like the distribution of weight on top of my platform affects my punching, but "Trainer Raul" says it's all in my head. Maybe so...
