    Title adjustable platform

    Does anybody have this platform:

    ?

I currently have a Balaz which it great, but was looking for more adjust-ability. BIG question is - does it 'rattle'? I'd for sure put a 50lb sandbag on top (assuming it doesn't mess with the adjusting part).

    Thanks, Jason

I've not seen one of these up close so I can't comment

Maybe dutchman can comment on the worm drive in general. I know that mechanism has been used for ages on platforms, so it can't rattle too bad ?!?!?

It looks like a solid, good quality platform. But if your a bit strapped for cash, you could get 2 everlast adjustable platforms from wallmart for $96 apiece and have enough left over for a couple of bags too (for the same price as this unit). I went to Menards and bought an 80lb. bag of morter (grout?) for about 5-6$ and wrapped it in a Hefty bag (with duct tape) and then had some rubber roofing material and wrapped it again to steady my platforms. They're really solid work great.

If the tolerences on the pipes are fairly tight the platform should be pretty solid. The old Everlast and Narrengansett platforms weighed so much that the shear mass of them kept the platform in position without having to resort to set screws. The new platforms are smaller and lighter. I've seen some vids of one that has the hand knobs to keep it in position once it's cranked to the proper height. The ones that don't have this option tend to rattle a bit, but they seem to stay in position farily well.

We've got one of those platforms up in our new Fight Store along with a few others. That is the most solid by far. No need for one ounce of weight on top of that platform. Rebounding was ridiculous compared my my adjustable Everlast platform. I had trouble keeping up.

Kind of a bargain then, wouldn't you say? I've a friend in Georgia who's been looking for one like this, I'll forward your comments.

Yeah, Looks like that in this case, you get what you pay for. Also, with this platform, it looks like you need plenty of headroom. It wouldn't have worked for me in my basement (7' ceiling). It does indeed look solid!

Well, Mr. SpeedKilz, my friend said he just ordered one. Your salesmanship has been rewarded.

I haven't hit that one yet but it look very solid. Board looks a bit small but probably holds up well. I wonder if Primefighter in Noel Missouri makes that set for Titleboxing.....? Looks like something they would do.
