    Everlast Swivel u-bolt type

    Hi guys,

is there anyone who can tell me something about the Everlast u-bolt swivel linked here, here and probably here too, although it doesn't say Everlast but Ringside.

That swivel is shown in some videos and in this one the swivel seems to shake within the housing. Does that mean it is close to getting damaged?

    Thank You!

From personal experience I've found that the top ball bearing in a lot of these swivels set up too loose, or work loose over time thus the visable slop. This can be usually rectified with a little work with a wrench.

I had one of those, too, which shook. I broke it after only a short while. I don't think I thought of tightening it up with a wrench, so that probably will work.

I have done this and then hit the top of the thread with a cold chisel to stop it working loose again then a drop of oil and there you go perfect hope this helps!!

IMO, your first link is poorly made and low quality. Forget about it. The second one (x2) is indeed the PS3 model from Ringside and a much better choice. Two years ago you would never see a Ringside swivel called "Everlast", or even have those two on the same page. Now they've joined forces, hence the link calling it an "everlast" swivel. Go figure.

I recommend you Get the second one. IMO, It's a much better swivel.

I bought that first one from dicks sporting goods (model 4444). I would have to disagree with Alan. It is not poor quality. I don't know how it compares to the ps-3, but it is a very decent swivel. The only thing is it does not work as well with light bags as it does with heavier bags. As a matter of fact, the 4444 is the exact same swivel as title delux pro swivel, which I used to own.

Look at the model # of the swivel in the second link. It says EV-4444. If you order that, chances are you will get the swivel whose picture I posted in the "speedbag discussion" section even though the picture on the website looks like the ps-3 from ringside. The third link says ps-3 so it probably will be the ringside ps-3 that they send you which should be different than the swivel in the pics I posted. The second and third links have the same pic but different model #'s so you really have to be careful because sometimes the pic is not a true representation of the product they send you.
