Cool Rules #1 and #2 For Speed Baggin'!

A new topic I was thinking about. I read up on a post about Tim writing in the "10 commandments of bagging" and it reminded me... pretty funny.....

    Sooooo....

    Cool Rule #1:
It is totally cool to bag while your speed bagging friend is engaged in conversation with you.
Baggers will never be insulted at having to talk over the sound of the bag!
(While baggin' in the Speed Bag Truck last week with Skunk, he was telling me a long story. So I would start hitting a bit and then chill, and he would do the same. All the while we kept the conversation going. This was totally cool with both of us. Then the next night in Melbourne Tim Platt-forum came down and we did the same thing.....) this can go on for hours with us baggers. It's NO BIG DEAL. It is what we do. What bagger would actually stand next to bag and not use it?? That would be insulting to the art of speed bagging and all the times you wished you could be baggin!
    BAG ON!

    Cool Rule #2:
Before you switch out a fellow bagger's bag that is already on the swiv, give it a whirl first.
Do not automatically switch it out and hound the swiv with your favorite bag. That would not be proper bagification! And with that comes the very simple mini-cool rule that states "any baggin' is good baggin'"

Haha, yeah I noticed that too. We can't go more than 20 seconds without hitting a bag when there is one hanging right there!

Cool Rule #4 If yer kids come in asking if they can have a blast............LET EM! A speed bag is to be shared between family and friends......even the neighbours.

I'm reminded of the song, "Turn, Turn, Turn" and the phrase: "To everything there is a season, and a time for every purpose under heaven.."

I guess I'll be the pooper, for I believe there is a time for Kids and dogs in your video's and there is a time NOT for the kids and dogs. That depends on the purpose of the video and the intended audience. I might also add this is particularly true when it's "other peoples" kids and dogs that unintendly show up in your video. My neighborhood has become a howling, barking carcophony of dog noise, making any serious video making impossible. I rarely attempt to videotape anything anymore since it's mostly going to be ruined by yapping dogs. The ones near by hear the bag, and off they go...
Our city ordinance has no problem with penning up 6-11 dogs in a yard. I regularly sleep with ear plugs in an attempt to muffle the sound. Thank goodness this bunch didn't live here in the mid '90's when I shot my DVD video's. I could never do that now without finding another place to work.

I catch your drift Alan. Sounds pretty bad if you can't make a video without some interference. Worst thing is, it's a problem that would never go away unless the number of dogs kept in one yard is reduced.

Maybe the dog whisperer needs to pay a visit to the bag whisperer?

Yea, if he could calm this bunch he'd be worth his weight in bags. Problem is, there are about 4 separate yards around with multiple dogs. Some are in unseen yards on the other side of small woods. Once one starts barking they all kick in. Even the Racoons and squirrels are wearing ear plugs. Hey Cesar, come on down!.

There must be a noise or nuisance ordinance. Maybe turn the camera on them and call the cops.

Better yet, get a dog shaped bag, put a board in the front yard and start speedbagging while laughing maniacally and looking at the dog owners

There is a noise ordinance but the dogs barking can be under the decibel restriction and still ruin your video's, and your sleep.

As for bagging in the yard, when a few full grown shepherds cut loose in full barking, their sound far outweighs the sound of one speed bag.

I've always loved living in this area because their is little to no airplane noise. What little air traffic there is comes in from other directions. I may hear a plane a few times a week, but rarely will you hear one on a video.

Several years ago, there was a loud dog barking through the night making it impossible to sleep. About 2 a.m. there was a loud BANG! then blessed silence. Sweet.

I was thinking more of the psychological effect on the owners LOL.

Maybe seeing the neighbor they have been tormenting maniacally beating a "dog" and cackling insanely might have them think twice about letting their dogs make living there hellish.

Then your audio problems would be solved.
