thanks for that, i`ve ordered the new swivel, as for the sand bag maybe a stupid question...but could i just put an actual bag of sand on top???
thanks again
Yeah mate! Anything will do! Some people use heavy punch bags, even bags of dog food! The idea of using something like this is a safety thing. If whatever you use does happen to fall off and hit you on the head it won't hurt as much as let's say 'bricks'..........Ouch! Or in my case my platform fell off the wall and the sandbags hit me on the head! That's why I have a problem with my English!
thanks for the advice, I`m going to take the board down slightly its about 5 inch above my head at the mo...but going to move it down a couple of inch...just to be sure the bottom of the bag should be level with my chin??? is this correct???
i have a nice set up now heavy bag, speed bag and end to end speed ball and just recieved my new gloves and mitts... going to train with a couple of mates in between my gym sessions... once i`ve got to grips with the new swivel...i`ll post a vid... i`m watching all the training vid`s over and over then putting it into practice...

Yeah, that's about right mate. Belly of the bag on line with your nose or mouth will make the bottom with your chin.
Your gym sounds good. good luck with the training.
I`ve finally got the bag at the right height (i think so anyway) and got the new swivle and bag fitted...had a load of problems with drilling into things and now the F`ing bricks are comming loose... anyway...i`ve made a 30 second vid...the bag still doesnt seam as good as it should be after watching other ppl`s videos but i`m thinking the board isn`t thick enough and may try and find a second hand everlast... like everyone else seams to have...
Have a look and see what you think... bare in mind i am a novice i can keep a slower pace for just about as long as i want to but i`m new to the bag and set up so thts my excuse lol... to be honest i wouldnt know where to start to do all the crazy things you lot do...but here goes....comments please...

Actually, that platform looks pretty solid to me. Those Everlast XS Skunk bags are somewhat interesting to use. Looked like pretty normal rebounds to me. And it looked like you were whacking it pretty good too. Good work!

Everything you're doing looks fine! Great coordination and timing.
When I first started, I only knew the front circle punches. Get Alan Kahns
speedbag bible and DVD and just put some time in "under the board". In no time at all you'll be pulling off all the cool stuff, reverse punches, double punches, fist rolls, elbow strikes etc. etc. Check out all the great speedbaggers videos on the forum and on U-tube (Alan Kahn, Skunk, Tim, Spinsmashpop, Scissorhands, Metaldad, Biff, the list goes on and on). That in itself will give you all the inspiration you'll need!!!!!
Bag On!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi Novice....
From what I can see and hear you're doing fine. The sounds of the bag tell us a lot. Yours sound like a smooth even pace to your punching. You got going faster at the end but it seemed like a control acceleration, not a desperate attempt to keep up - so your pace is smooth and continuous. Fist contact seems solid without constant mis-hits on the bag ( I do notice a couple of mis hits with the left fist at first) but I don't hear any "late" contacts and it looks like you are making contact at the correct point in the rebound (note your contact afterimage).
Fist movements are a bit more difficult to determine since your video "crop" or zoom-in choice is a bit high and your hands drop out the bottom of the screen. You might zooom out or show more of your body/shoulder so we can see more of your arm movements and position.
but all told you look and sound pretty solid. Remember, speed bag is much more about "control" than "speed". If you are trying to hit "hard and fast" then chances are it will hold your progress back as you try to learn new techniques or combinations.
