    The Baggers Among us....

Since the Speed Bag Bible has been out "officially" (July 1995) for 19 years I been blessed to meet thousands of people who love the speed bag, from all walks of life. Some contacted me by phone or "snail mail" and more recently by computer. Recently a guy got back in touch with me who I spoke to way back in 1997. At the time he was living in las vegas "working for casinos" but never really got off into what that meant. We spoke speed bag for a couple of hours. He called recently (12 years later..), and said now he is in Kentucky, baggin with family and friends. I updated his VHS speed bag video with a DVD version, and in kind he sent me
HIS own DVD. I had no idea this was him. You just never know...

I told him about this forum and hope he joins. Maybe he'll invited us all over for cards.

Interesting character. Some people who are seriously into cards lose everything and very few make it a good living. Looks like Sal made it his living in a different way.

That is really neat that he got in touch with you, is bagging and wanted you to know that. I'd sure hate to play cards against him, and worse yet, try cheating at it at one of his casinos.

I think that's maybe how it goes with speed bags (I don't feel comfortable yet calling myself a 'bagger' - I need to develop skills before I get to call myself that).

      There is Something About It.

The Everlast bag I have I have had since before 97 (I think I got it in about 94 and I had a good set-up for it through about mid 96). I have never not taken it with me or kept the swivel I had; I always intended to get back to it. I can't say that about anything else except for eating - and changing the oil in my car.

I've been to Las Vegas 39 times, I used to work for a guy who went there almost every weekend - and I've been there on several conventions in other work. I've never been a gambler; I just don't have any interest in it (kind of like brussel sprouts for me). I figure those hotels were not built by winners and I was once very good at math but it's not something that -- I like girls and I like the health spas they have in Vegas. Several times I stayed in the Imperial Palace (across from Caesar's) but I would always go to the spa in the Flamingo across the way and in there they had - several saunas, eucalyptus (?) steam rooms and you could work out and go through them and they'd bring you cold tomato juice - and when you took a shower, they have four heads in the shower and it felt like - coming out of the hot rooms with cold water from 4 shower heads... total immersion and then you get dressed and go see your gal who's annoyed at her losses with whatever one-armed bandit or 21 or roulette game she's lost money at - but then you go to dinner with her and you're in a Good Mood and you feel great and it makes for a nice evening.

I've just never gotten into gambling even for penny chips.

And the Canyon Ranch at Venetian is not bad, either.

No my friend, it does not require great skill on the speed bag to be a "bagger". It only requires the desire to have them, or be the best that you can be on it, and the discipline to practice. Loyalty and love for being under that board, and caring for others that do that same is the only price of membership. At least that is my definition.

On that note, and after watching RenoRattler's new vid, I am going for another round.

          Thanks.

I was a Hooker losing her looks!!

For Better or Worse this is the Song I'm starting out bagging with. I will vid to this song within 14 days.

I'm getting a few things down.

I'm getting Chapter 3 in the wisdom teeth, it takes me a while - but it doesn't leave after that.

When I get capable, and I will, I will go, I already know, from this song to Nobody Left To Run With Anymore, which is an Allman Brothers song.

I am nowhere near capable of going with that now.

This may not be your genre, Alan, but I bet (and I'm not a gambler) you could go Wizard on the board with this song: http://video.google.com/videosearch?...d=0CBMQqwQwAA#

It's going to take me at least a week to catch up with it (that's hoping and praying and trying not to think about what Skunk could do with this tune).

I've got some other ones I'd like to see you get Wily With. And maybe SpinsSmash, too. Some percussion stuff.

Sorry, we ain't going to bed just yet. We're going for another run on Chap-3.

Mike, if Speedbag puts me in the catagory of a bagger and I only hit with straight punches, then just consider us all in the bagger family and leave it at that.
