I would have jumped on it, too! Great deal...
I've only been hitting the bag for 5 days. You have any preference in swivel for speed? I'm using the plastic ball hook that came with the Everlast starter set.

Has anyone had some experience with one of those little Top Contender bags that I posted the link to? It looks like a really nice round shape - I wonder how it would "handle?" I am tempted to snag it, but ...

Yes, I have the 7x4. It's awesome (if you like very light bags that feel like punching air). The leather is good, durable, bladder holds air well.

That 7x4 is the lightest bag I have , weighing in about the 4oz mark if I recall. The one pictured there must be 8x5 or probably 9x6. Never punched one of those.

I remember once at a sporting goods show, I was walking through the international exhibits and saw some speed bags (speed balls) from China and Taiwan that looked more like basketballs with attachment loops. There were fast when hitting from the front, but linking on an almost round bag was difficult. One of the secrets of passing the hands "through" the bag is that we actually contact it on or near the downward slope of the bag belly. That puts your hand just a smidge lower at contact, giving it a bit more room to clear as the bag is on the board. If your fists land on the top area of the bag belly, your hand may clip the bag while it is on the board, and get trapped on the pass through.

This bag looks like it has a bit of a taper shape, but it is pretty round.
