I wanted to start a big bag lovers club although there's probably just a few of us that love hitting on the big bags and i'm not talking about just buying big bags for display, Personally i can never buy a bag for just display purposes i have to hit on them, i have lost/worn out many vintage big bags, I recently lost my Draper-Maynard bag and my Geo.A.Reach bag will be about done pretty soon, Remember that bible bag roots come from the Fancy Baggers of the Vaudeville days where they would use big bags to show off their skills and the boxers of the golden age would hit on these big bags, What i like about hitting the big bags is the force i get to use on them in order to get them to move fast.

The old Tuffwear striking bags are great for this, I'm presently using my S109. The Spaulding bags along with Hutch and J. C. Higgens (ne Sears) bags are very well made bags, multiple stitching with heavy cowhide leather. They really make you work to just keep them moving. The older Reach bags were made with glove leather, which are great to hit, but as you can see they do wear out.
