    My first platform purchase

    Hello all

First, I'd like to start by stating this forum is awesome.

    heres my questions:
I'm want to buy a platform for my garage, but I need help deciding which one to get. Here are the ones i was thinking of getting:

    or
Trusted by champions since 1910. Boxing gloves, punching bags, training apparel & more – built to last.

Which is better? The everlast is alot cheaper. I see that the drum is .50 thicker. Is it cheaper because of the swivel?

I really like to look of the balazs better, but I am more concerned about quaility rather.

Also, is this everlast platform the same as the one that skunk is using in this video:

    Howz it swigin Duke.

THat everlast does appear to be the same one Skunk Bra uses, but I couldn't be 100%. The Balazs looks great, you couldn't go wrong either way. My 1st platform lasted for about 3months or so, but it was only a cheap one off the net, sure I might have lost $100 on it, but what I've gained since then is invaluable. Since there's only 0.07 cents difference in the $$$ Aus-US, I tend to import a lot of my speed bag goods. I have spent a lot more than my initial outlay, and am still buying although the frequency has reduced. I suspect you may be the same.

I personally like the Balazs one....I've enjoyed mine. Everlast does make good equipment though

They probably both hit the same, but I'm partial a set up that allows me to drill the swivel holes all the through the board and bolt it on. The top middle of the Balazs I-BOX board is covered with steel framing and cannot easily allow the swivel holes to be drilled through. I did see a unit that was modified and had the holes drilled through the framing, but that is a lot of trouble.
