Does anyone here on the forum have this style of platform? How do you adjust it? By manually screwing the drum up or down?

Yes that is how it's done. I seem to recall that Everlast played with that style for a while too. Remember that reality boxing show that had Sly Stallone in it a while back? The gym they set up for that had this style of platforms in it. The director liked them better because they could set them up so that they could get better camera angles.
